The Round Lake Area Park District challenges you and your family to take the #ScreenFreeWeek challenge this April 30 - May 6. Here the Children & Nature Network explains what #ScreenFreeWeek is:
The annual national celebration where children, families, schools, and communities turn off TV, video games, computers, and hand-held devices and turn on life. Instead of relying on screens for entertainment, they play, read, daydream, explore nature, and enjoy spending time with family and friends. (http://www.screenfree.org/)
The park district would like to help you organize some ideas for your screen free week! Check out our District calendar for all the happenings, and explore our new interactive park map to find a new park you could explore! Play some sports during our Open Gym at the Sports Center, hit a few rounds or buckets at Renwood Golf Course, or pack a lunch and have a picnic at Hart's Woods this weekend with your family. No idea is a bad idea!
Post and share your photos with @rlapd on Facebook, and @RoundLakeAreaParkDistrict on Instagram. We'd love to see how you spent your #ScreenFreeWeek!
