Phase 4 Park District Updates:

Illinois is progressing through the Governor’s Restore Illinois Plan, and has entered Phase 4 on Friday, June 26, 2020. Phase 4 allows for larger gatherings (up to 50) and additional programming. The Round Lake Area Park District will slowly be opening facilities and programs throughout Phase 4, keeping participant safety at the forefront of our minds. Below you will find a listing of updates by area of interest.

Fourth ofJuly Fireworks

The 2020 Fourth of July Fireworks scheduled for Saturday, July 4, have been cancelled. Based on the current Restore Illinois Guidelines of gatherings up to 50 and the typical attendance of 1,000+, the District has chosen to cancel the Fireworks. While this has been a staple in our community for years, the health and safety of our residents is the leading factor in our decision-making.

Summer Camps

We are excited to announce that we are holding a modified camp season, beginning July 6. Camp will be held outdoors at the Robert W. Rolek Community Center from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.. Camp is a Monday-Friday program and will be held in two-week sessions. This will minimize the mixing of staff and new participants. For more information check out our camp page at rlapd.org/school-age-day-camps

Summer Programs

While this summer may look a little different, the Round Lake Area Park District is committed to providing recreational opportunities for all of our residents. We have virtual offerings, preschool, programs out at our local parks, programs for our special recreation, and more. For more information check out our website at rlapd.org

Parks, Playgrounds & Sports Fields/Courts

It is finally happening! Playgrounds, disc golf, skate parks, and sports fields are opening back up. The Round Lake Area Park District will not be sanitizing playgrounds and reminds everyone that while our parks and fields are opening back up, the state still has limitations on the size of gatherings that Illinoisans can have and ask that our community members are respectful of that.

Golf

Renwood Golf Course is open to the public accepting twosomes, foursomes, walkers and those that would like use of a golf cart. The driving range and clubhouse is open and will be operating at 50% capacity, along with outdoor seating. Please reserve your tee times in advanced by calling (847) 231-4711 or booking online at renwoodgolf.com

 Park Shelter and Facility Rentals

Park and facility rentals are available for groups under 50. Facility rentals will be accepted for the Sports Center only. Please check out our website for booking information.

The District will continue to communicate updates through the end of the Governor’s Restore Illinois Plan. We thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.

 Sincerely,

Round Lake Area Park District Board Of Commissioners
