Master Plan

The Round Lake Area Park District is excited to announce that our Comprehensive Master Plan has officially been approved by the Board of Commissioners! This five-year plan serves as a roadmap for how our parks, facilities, programs, and services will grow and evolve to best serve our community.

This plan is the result of a thoughtful, collaborative process that began in August 2024 — and your voice played a key role. Through surveys, meetings, and community input, residents helped shape priorities and ideas that will guide decisions for years to come.

The planning process began with the creation of a Strategic Plan, which evaluated the District’s organization, staffing, resources, and culture. From there, the Comprehensive Master Plan took shape, offering a detailed look at our parks, open spaces, trails, facilities, programs, events, and services — along with a clear vision for the future. The board of commissioners approved the Master Plan on Feb. 12, 2026.
