Summer Employment Opportunities:

Become a LIFEGUARD CANDIDATE in just 5 easy steps!
- 1. Fill out an application at the Round Lake Area Park District: Robert W. Rolek Community Center, 814 Hart Road, in Round Lake. If you have any questions, please call 847-740-9823 and ask for Matt.
- 2. Successfully complete the interview process.
- 3. Successfully complete the Jeff Ellis & Associates On-Line Lifeguard Training Program. The program will take approximately 12 hours and includes an exam that the candidate MUST pass before moving to the next step. Registration cost for the On-Line Program is $32.
- 4. Successfully pass the In-Water Practical Exam*
- 5. Enjoy a fun, but challenging summer job!
* Includes a 200 yard swim (eight lengths of the pool), feet first surface dive 12 feet under water to retrieve a 10 pound brick and treading water for two minutes without using your arms. The exam will take approximately 20 hours to complete, depending on weather. Candidates are required to attend all pre-season training hours.

Looking for After School Program Staff
We will also be looking for positive-minded, energetic, creative and patient people to staff our After School Program! Hours are 2:30/3:00 pm until 6:00 pm daily with some full-day hours on no-school days. Responsibilities include planning activities & curriculum and the direct supervision of children. Requirements are, at minimum, a high school diploma with 6 credit hours of college work in education, psychology or a related field. Experience working with children is helpful! Questions?
